PSHE British Values Lesson. A short introduction to the ‘Rule of Law’ ( explanation of the ‘Rule of Law’, how laws are made and why we have them). This is followed by a 10 question: ‘how much do you know about the law in the UK’ quiz , which learners can participate in using their white wipe-boards. There is then a ‘Rule of Law’ task to complete 19 slides

Letter Writing Task. The learner has a letter writing task to complete and can plan and format their letter correctly by using the included letter writing template.

I created these after the KS3 class read Act 1 of DNA. On the back of each individual name card, get the learners to do a character analysis: Personality traits - positive and negative Words they would use to describe that character 1 key quote from Act 1 that they feel shows the character’s positive / negative character traits ( e.g John Tate: " …if anyone says it I’m going to have to, you know, bite their face." This shows his intimidating and bullying nature). On the front of each card, the faces are left blank. I got to class to draw the faces of each character as they imagined them to look. This is their own interpretation. Print the pages double sided and the cards will print out colour coded to each character. I have also attached grey character cards incase you want to print the cards out black and white ( so they are the same shade of grey).

A 13 page PPT Lesson. This lesson aims to prepare learners for their L1/L2 writing exam. As a class, they will discuss a sample question and the tutor will show them a basic answer. The tutor will then show learners how to bulk out their writing: in order the meet the exam’s word count criteria. There is then a practice question ( an article) and tips on how to answer this question. This PPT should cover an hour session.

A fun Halloween game. These cards can be used in a number of different games: Charades - a word guessing game. The learner picks a card and acts out each syllable of the word while the rest of the learners guess the word Match the pair game. Print out two copies of the cards. Cut out and turn them over and match the pictures / words. Prints double sided. A4 PDF document

Pin the crown on the corgi! An A3 poster and additional sheet with cut-out crowns. There are three different designs: a corgi with a crown, a transparent crown and a corgi without a crown. You can print out and play the game with your chosen sheet. Get your learners to cut out a crown each and attach blu-tack to the back. Get them to close their eyes and see if they can correctly stick the crown on the corgi! They can close their eyes or wear a blindfold!

This is a 5 page booklet where the learner will read two source documents on the following subject: fur farming. They will answer a compare and contrast assessment and will plan their answer by using a Venn Diagram. They will then answer the question which will be worth 3 marks on their exam.

32 X card matching game. This game was designed for my KS3 class as a starter task for a PSHE lesson. There are 32 cards in total: 16 have the names of different sexualities printed on them and 16 have the different sexual identity flags printed on them. These are double sided cards once printed and have the LGBT flag on the opposite side. Print the cards double sided and cut out. Ideal for a game of ‘match a pair.’ You could add an extension question and get your learners to find out the meaning of the different types of sexuality that are named on the cards.

A great activity / research task for Pride month. Get your learners to work in pairs to find out the meaning of each term. These are double sided cards with cut out lines. On one side is the name of either a gender identity, sexual orientation or a LGBT term. on the opposite side, there are blank writing spaces for learners to write down what each term means.

Get your learners to create their own Pride emoji. This can be a good introduction to Pride month as you can discuss the colours used on the emoji’s face and what they represent. These are the same colours used in the Pride flag. My learners created their own emojis to put on our ‘Theme of the Month’ wall display: Pride Month.
