Clear Learning Objectives relating to Age-Related Expectations and Milestones, differentiated activities, 4 short burst writes and 1 extended end of unit write. Also included is a Talk 4 Write short story based on the book for children to learn and photographs of story map.

Non-fiction plans based on Mrs Armitage on Wheels by Quentin Blake- 10 sessions. Plan includes short burst writes and an end of unti report. Also included is a box-up plan and facts for children to sort as well as a modelled write about Quentin Blake. There is also sentence snakes foe SEN/ LA children to cut and arrange to make sentences.

Year 1/ 2 three week fiction plan for Dear Zoo by Rob Campbell. The plan uses the T4W structure. The first week explores vocabulary and introduces the story, the second week includes grammar and the third supports children to plan and write a story. There are several writing opportunities that leads to an end of unit write. Resources also available to accompany this planning unit. The resources are FREE as I did not make them all.

Four long sessions including Technical Knowledge, Design, Make and Evaluate. Learning Objectives relating to the Key Learning Intentions for Primary DT. Guided Reading Follow on Task. A table to aid children to compare two texts focusing on finding similarities and differences. This document is based on Mrs Armiatge on Wheels and Mrs Armitage Queen of the Road but is easily adaptable.

Four creative writing lessons for Year 2-3 based on a group of elves being homeless after the Christmas rush! Write directions, persuasive adverts and a letter of reply. Lessons require children to make new “homes” for the elves.

Non-fiction 2 week writing unit (Year 2/3) based on the book How To Help A Hedgehog And Save A Polar Bear. Included short burst writes, grammar and end of unit write. Will link with any learning around conservation, protecting animals and helping the planet. Bow up plan and ‘hook’ text message screen shot also included. Skills included taken from the Age Related Expectations and Milestones for Year 2 and 3.

Year 2/3. 12 lesson n\f plan based on the book Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers. Plan looks at poetry, writing a set of rules and ends with a letter to planet earth. Skills taught and covered from the year 2 and 3 curriculum and milestones. Resources for lessons (example letters, templates and writing frames) included.

KS1 resources relating to Bob the Man on the Moon by Simon Bartram and Bob’s Best Ever Friend by the same author. 3 week poetry planning unit (Year 2/3) based on The Owl & the Pussycat by Edward Lear.
