I work in a typical secondary school as an ICT/Computer Science/Business studies teacher. I'm a believer of taking the time and effort to make a great resource which will make life easier in the classroom. Differentiation is always clearly identified, alongside ways the activities could be varied when being taught. Hope you like my resources, feedback would be appreciated 😀

KS3 PowerPoint - Country investigation

Full 8 lessons worth of teacher PowerPoints for the delivery of a PowerPoint unit for KS3. The unit of work teaches them how to use PowerPoint effectively, including, text, images, design, charts and how to prepare outputs such as speaker notes, handouts or full slides. Great unit of work for ticking SMSC criteria. This unit encourages a pupil to investigate a country of their choice, including their cultures, beliefs, religions, language, places of interest, location etc etc. Lots of great starters built in developing maths skills in relation to the topics, such as time differences, currency exchange rates etc.

Create a Maze Game

Ideal for extra curricular activities Series of tutorials to create a maze game. Tutorials are aimed at year 7-8. I used them as an after school club. They really engage pupils and get them talking excitedly about programming. Builds skills and confidence with very little work required from a teacher. All tutorials are exactly step by step with lots of print screens for the pupils to be able to follow independently. Pupils can work independently through the tutorials to create a game with 2 levels. Once the two levels are completed they have all the skills to build a game of however many levels they want.

An interactive starter to identify different icons in different software. Word, PowerPoint and Excel Bronze, Silver and Gold differentiation Independent work to get pupils engaged as soon as they enter the classroom This is an ideal resource to provide evidence of progress within folders or exercise books rather than pupils just working on their own at a computer for a full lesson.

Creative Imedia Grade Calculator

This simple and easy to use calculator allows you to input what points each student has achieved on each unit of work. It calculate up from there what their current overall grade will be. Each unit has a different weighting, which the calculator takes into account. A very powerful tool to help make accurate predications for data and reports. Allows you to show ‘what if’ scenarios to students and talk about minimum grades required in each element. Useful tool to keep track of mock achievements too. To use the tool, you just enter points into the light yellow shaded cells. The rest will automatically generate.

KS3 Pyton Programming Games!

This unit follows on nicely from any scratch unit you might teach early on in KS3. This introduces students nicely to the key programming constructs of programming using Python. What better way to engage students than to allow them to build their own games. Each lesson guides them through the game making process step by step highlighting the programming construct in use. At the end of every lesson they have an opportunity to tweak or change their game to thier own preferences. A highly engaging unit of work for students
