Design a coin for the Coronation of King Charles 111 May 6th 2023. Children can look at the official coin that has been made to celebrate the occasion. They can use the templates here to recreate the coin or come up with ideas of their own. The resource contains 2 pages with outline coins. There are 4 pages of shields with 6 shields on each. The emblems of the rose, thistle, shamrock and leek are included for children to colour in and cut out. There is a sheet with 6 blank shields for children to use as well as 2 profiles which could signify the King.

Let’s celebrate the King’s Coronation by filling the bus with the guests and Royals that will be attending this special event. There is a sample bus filled, that children can use and colour in. There is an empty bus for children to draw their own guests in, or to cut and paste pictures into. Page 3 shows a selection of pictures/symbols of people that might be attending the ceremony. Children could choose from this selection. All aboard! Extend by asking children to share their finished buses with their peers. Encourage the use of positional language and counting of guests upstairs and downstairs. Boardmaker licenced.
