This resource will help you plan the unit focusing on potential questions.
Photocopy onto cardboard and cut into triangles. Place triangle pieces into envelopes. In pairs or threes ask students to match up the sides of the triangles using the clues. Which group can solve the puzzle the quickest?
For SEND the text is in comic sans to support dyslexic students. For SEND photocopy onto A3 and cut up triangles.
For sticky learning to succeed students need to make a path with their learning. They need to visit and re-visit this path so that connections can be made. Use this connection map to help SEND students make links with events and More Able students to make explanations and assessments.

Divide the class into two teams
Place two chairs in front of the IWB
Each team decides on a Team Captain
Decide who will be your Team Captain
Team Captain will sit in front of the IWB with their back to it
Team 1 or 2- a slide will appear – and the TEAM must describe the word, person, event to your team captain - shout out clues to help the Team Captain guess
No saying the word, person or event. No rhyming. No sounds like.
Team Captain must guess the word, event or person in under 20 seconds.
You will have only have 20 seconds to give them clues.
Use your knowledge and skills to describe the word, person or event
Teacher times the 20 seconds
For each word you only get 20 seconds to help the Team Captain Guess
Words appear on the PowerPoint slide
10 points per correctly guessed word
Bonus 20 points if the Team Captain can share a knowledge gem about the word after guessing
You can move from slide to slide or you can use the spin slide for random slides appearing.
