I like an active classroom where everyone is busy. If you stop in one day it will look like chaos, but it is a carefully orchestrated chaos that cleverly disguises all the learning that we are doing. I use a lot of activities -- and keep the kids moving.
Research says that if anyone sits for more than 15 minutes, their brain disengages and learning is not happening. So I design a lot of activities to get kids moving, talking, thinking and participating.

Playing games in the classroom is always so much fun, especially when it forces students to practice important solving skills. This set has systems of linear equations which the students will need to solve to match with the solution given.
This domino set contains 8 rectangular dominoes. Students work in pairs to cut them apart, turn face down and mix up and then each draw 4 dominoes. The students with "start" goes first and puts down his domino, then whoever has the solution for that domino places the next, until one student is out of dominoes and is declared the winner.
Answer Key is included showing the correct order of the dominoes.
Students practice addition and subtraction of integers to increase levels to reach the top of the pyramid. There are three different levels of difficulty included with answer keys for all.
Need a quick (or not so quick) activity for unexpected absences or for earlier finishers? Or something easy for those last few hectic days of school? Includes a word search with June words with a secret message, a number puzzle, a cut and paste puzzle and a Calendar page for June to plan for the month.
Looking for a quick idea for unexpected absences or early finishers? Here is a word search with a secret message, a graphing activity with a Halloween theme and a cut and paste puzzle for students plus a blank October calendar for planning. Answer Keys for all included. Have a great October
Need some fun ideas for the holidays or just some activities for early finishers? Included is a word search with a November theme with a hidden message, 18 I have/Who has cards calculating slope from two points, a November calendar for planning and give boxes to make to show thanks.
Enjoy...
Enjoy a patriotic word search, a back to school activity, a blank July calendar for planning and some label templates to organize supplies. Perfect activities for unexpected absences and to get classroom set up for the new school year.
I always use a lot of games and activities in the class. Sets of Matching Cards are very versatile because there are so many ways of using the different types of cards.
They can be used for a whole class activity or a group/partner activity and a quick assessment for an individual student. Using cards as an assessment is a quick way to tell me if I need to reteach or review certain concepts or the class is good to go. I am always finding new ways to use them and the kids enjoy the variety.
Students practice multiplying fractions in a game format. Set includes 4 different sets of dominoes: 8 Dominoes, 12 Dominoes, 16 Dominoes and 24 Dominoes. The smaller sets are great for pairs or even a student who likes to work alone. The larger sets are good for groups of 3 or 4.
Dominoes are cut apart, placed face down and students draw all dominoes equally. Student with "start" places the first domino and then student with the answer/fraction problem in their hand plays the next. This continues until one student is out of dominoes and is declared the winner. I usually give 5 points per domino left in other students hands and keep a running tally.
Students love playing games in the classroom and this set will give them the opportunity to practice multiplying fractions.
Students practice dividing fractions in a game format. Set includes 4 different sets of dominoes: 8 Dominoes, 12 Dominoes, 16 Dominoes and 24 Dominoes. The smaller sets are great for pairs or even a student who likes to work alone. The larger sets are good for groups of 3 or 4.

Contains 18 sets of matching cards, one half the cards are multiplication problems with the other half are the answers. Students can work independently to match cards, with partners or teacher can pass out problems and call out answers to have students respond with match.

Students practice finding the area of parallelograms in this matching activity to use in a variety of ways. Cut apart and use for a single student or pair of students. The set includes 18 pairs of cards, one side with the diagram of the parallelogram and the other side with the calculated area. You can also use these cards as a ticket in the door or ticket out the door. Additional uses for these cards are explained in the directions or download my free resource.
Looking for a quick and fun way to practice integers without using another boring worksheet? Students will love beginning each maze at the "start" position, solving a problem to find the next place to move until they reach the place marked "end".
3 versions of mazes with adding and subtracting integers with answer keys included as well. I like to have students work in twos (or threes) if you have an odd number in the class, give each student a different version and have them work and help each other.
Students practice finding slope from 2 points in this matching activity to use in a variety of ways. Cut apart and use for a single student or pair of students. The set includes 2 different sets of 18 pairs matching cards that have the same solution. You can use to pair up students for other activities. You can also use these cards as a ticket in the door or ticket out the door.
Additional uses for these cards are explained in the directions or download my free resource.
Set includes 20 pairs of matching cards, half with the graph of a circle and the other half has the equation of the graphed circle. Students practice identifying graphs of equations. Cut out cards and laminate for reuse if desired, or have students use individual cards to create posters/displays.
Great for individual practice, pairs, small groups. Can use as an exit ticket, warm ups or stations activity. Additional uses for matching cards are included in my free resource.
Students practice using the distributive property and combining like terms in this set of 6 puzzles with 2 different levels of difficulty. Each puzzle has 16 pieces and forms a square when complete. In the easier 3 puzzle levels the border/edge pieces are blank and in the 3 more difficult puzzles the edge pieces have distractor problems/answers.
Print the puzzle pages for each pair or group of students and let them cut and match sides with the problem to the side wth the answer. Excellent review activty or use in stations.
Students practice using the midpoint formula in two of these puzzles and the distance formula in the other two puzzles. Puzzles have 2 levels for differentiation in the classroom and answer keys are included for all. In the simpler level, the outside edges are blank, so if students are having difficulty, have them arrange the pieces so the blank sides are on the outside.
In the more challenging level, the edges have additional problems/answers in the border to make solving a little more difficult. Set includes 4 different puzzles with 2 different levels of difficulty for students to practice using midpoint and distance formulas.
You can use the puzzles on different days, at stations or give the struggling students the simpler variation. I keep a puzzle or two on my table for students who finish early.

Students finding calculating the discriminant of a quadratic equation in this matching card set. Included are 18 pairs of matching cards, one half with the quadratic equations the other half has the discriminant. Great for pairs and small groups.
Print and cut out the student matching card sets and laminate for repeated use. Make sets of cards with the discriminat for the groups, show one of the equations and groups that calculate the correct discriminant get a point. Many other uses are detailed in my free resource : Ways to Use Matching Card Sets.
