This resource is a complete KS3 unit spanning 4-6 lessons on the design and making of both the packing and the product for a “Peppermint cream” company. Could be used in conjunction with both the business and food technology classes. Perfect for low, high or mixed ability classes. This resource contains quality student examples and is also EAL friendly as language is clear and is used in conjunction with visual imagery. Worksheets are used in the planning of the peppermint cream company where students design the name, logo, slogan, packaging and product (2 lessons). Thereafter, they will construct their packing (2-3 lessons) and make their peppermint creams (1 lesson) according to their design. Students always enjoy this project as it incorporates some food technology and gives plenty of scope for individuality. This could be used as a group project as well.
