A medium term plan for Dance based on the theme of Superheros. Includes solos, duets, creative work a lesson for filming and evaluation.

A medium term plan used for Year 5 & 6 dance lessons based on the theme of Alice in Wonderland. Includes a different focus for each lesson: Characters Alice & Caterpillar (Gestures/Contact/Travel/Levels) Characters Cheshire Cat & White Rabbit (contact/balances/set phrase) Mad Hatters Tea Party (Props/Hat) Deck of Cards (Teamwork/Instructions) Queen of Hearts & Croquet (Swing/Release/Rolling) Rehearse & Perform.

A medium term plan used for Year 5 & 6 based around the style of Jazz Dance. Can develop to add further creative work in each session, or follow purely for technique. Lessons focus on isolations, travel, kicks and turns and a jazz dance (chance for creative work in groups.)

A medium term plan used for Year 5 & 6 based around the stage show STOMP. Mixture of set movements and creative work in groups. Completed without music and use of newspaper for props. Could be swapped to other props from the show (brooms, chairs etc.)

A medium term plan for year 5 & 6 based on African Dance. Each lesson based on a different skill (hips, feet/jumps, travel and relaxed movement) and sections of the dance, performing to Waka Waka.

A medium term plan used for Year 3 & 4 based around the theme of sports. Each lesson focused of a different sport, they included kayaking, rock climbing, windsurfing and parachuting.

Medium term planning for Dance around the theme of Cheerleading. Lessons broken down into different cheerleading skills eg, Arm position, jumps, mat work and small stunts.

Series of 6 lessons for Indian/Bollywood Dance suitable for KS2. Includes 1 lesson to film and 1 lesson to assess and have fun. My class loved the chance to choreograph and use the many new hand gestures. Hand gestures Mirroring/Canon Contrast Action/Reaction Rehearsal and Film Assess/Fun

Planning for Year 5 & 6. 4 lessons of creating, 1 lesson to rehearse and film and a final evaluation lesson. Lessons include learning about a mixture of Caribbean dances and then a lesson focused on pirates and choreographing a dance using varied of skills. Youtube links included to help support. Medium term planning used for Year 3 & 4 Dance based on the theme of Mission Impossible. Children worked through ‘spy training’ and achieved a certificate (not provided) at the end of the sessions for completing.

Used for BFG week in Year 3, a mixture of computing, geography and English lessons. English - The children were shown clips of the BFG new film and discussed and described the locations verbally using adjectives, adverbs etc. Geography - Discussed which country they could be in. Linked to UK topic, the UK countries and the locations being in Scotland. Computing - Input the addresses into Google Maps using street view, explored the locations and wrote down onto the worksheet adjectives for what they could see.

I used this for my Year 3 class to count up in fractions during a BFG week. The work displays Snozzcumbers split into amounts with a number line underneath. They they had to write the fraction for how much the BFG would have eating moving up the number line. Mixture of fractions and whole numbers. Two abilities.

A worksheet I created for my class for a BFG themed week on fractions. Write fractions the dream jars are split into. Write down what fraction of the dream fills the jar. (eg. 1/4, 2/3) Shade in the dream jar for the fraction given. Two levels of differentiation.
