NEW YEAR CROWNS: NEW YEAR’S 2025 HAT CRAFTIVITY (BLACK AND WHITE HAT TEMPLATES)
Are you looking for a New Year’s 2025 activity? Kids will love making and wearing these New Year’s hats! This resource includes 8 different black-and-white hat templates. Simply choose the most appropriate template for your class, print and go!
After the kids have coloured their New Year’s hat, cut out and staple the band from one side. Place around the kids’ head and adjust. Assemble the band to the hat from the other side and let the kids have fun! If one band is not sufficient, just use two bands (extras are on the last page).

1 Christmas word search and answers to go with it for self or peer-marking.
Add some Christmas fun to your day with these cute themed word searches. If your students are like mine, they love puzzles. There are so many ways you could incorporate this worksheet activity into your day.
How might you incorporate it into your day? You can use word search puzzles to introduce vocabulary or even just give it as morning work to go along with a Christmas theme or topic you are studying in class. They are also great to use for writing. You could have students practice writing using some of the words from the word search and when they are finished, they get to complete the puzzle. Have them write sentences or a short Christmas-themed story. They work perfectly as a fast-finisher activity and also as a last-minute sub-activity.

This exciting and interactive activity is perfect for teachers and students to get to know each other better and build a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
The banner can be turned into bright and colorful pennants, each one designed to be filled in with personal information and unique details about each student. Children can write their name, favorite things, hobbies, and aspirations, and display them proudly in the classroom.
This activity not only helps children feel welcomed and valued in the classroom but also provides an opportunity for teachers to get to know their students better and understand their unique interests and strengths. Children can colour them in so they are sure to stand out and add a touch of fun to any classroom.
Whether used at the start of the school year or any time during the year, the pennant bunting banner activity is a great way to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment, encourage self-expression and foster a sense of community among students.

Year 1 Common Exception Words Flashcards with sentences.
Common exception words are words in which the English Spelling code works in an unusual or uncommon way. They are not words for which phonics ‘doesn’t work’, but they may be exceptions to spelling rules, or words which use a particular combination of letters to represent sound patterns in a rare or unique way.
The statutory requirements of the Year 1 Spelling Curriculum include the common exception words:
the, a, do, to, today, of, said, says, are, were, was, is, his, has, I, you, your, they, be, he, me, she, we, no, go, so, by, my, here, there, where, love, come, some, one, once, ask, friend, school, put, push, pull, full, house, and our.
