This is Day 1 of a two week Algebra unit of work for year 6 (or low year 7). In each pack you will find: Lesson plans (including for your TA), differentiated worksheets/activities (these include specific worksheets/activities for SEN children and worksheets/activities for children displaying mastery), answer sheets and flipcharts for whole class teaching (in both ActivInspire and PowerPoint format). Each pack will save you hours and hours of planning, resourcing, catering for SEN/mastery and generating flipcharts all for an amazing price. In addition, resources are uploaded in both PDF and Word format so that they can be edited if you so wish. Day 1 is a pre-algebra lesson that prepares children for the subsequent lessons using the idea of balancing a set of scales by identifying missing values, using inverse operations etc. As well as planning and resources, there is an 18 page flipchart to introduce the lesson. The lesson is designed to develop conceptual understanding and build confidence before taking the first perilous steps in to dealing with formulas.
