Did this at the end of the academic year with my two Year 7 classes. It's adapted from generic instructions found elsewhere on the net.

A set of sentence patterns to help students talk about their personality and how others see them.

Set of 20 slides to stimulate and support discussion of or speculation about people's personalities.

Question and answer activity. There activity contains a numbered sequence of questions to be asked, and a bullet pointed list of answers to choose from. Students could be expected to answer (i) using only answers on the sheet (ii) an answer on the sheet plus an additional statement of their own devising (iii) an answer on the sheet plus two additional statements of their own devising.

Two relatively straightforward grammar exercises, practising the use of 'weil&' and &';obwohl' in the context of school subjects and option choices.

Four teenage blogs about daily / routine & the length of the school day, followed by a reminder about seperable verbs, True/False questions in English, two 'find the phrase&' activities, a partner activity, and some written work ... PS typos fixed!

A number of resources revolving around the question of what you do when you find things that don't belong to you. The first text features a selection of blogs on the subject followed by comprehension questions in English and a 'Find the phrase' activity. There is then a Powerpoint with discussion questions and a toolkit to help students formulate answers.

Short texts in which teenagers say which options they have chosen and why. Texts are followed by comprehension questions in English, a 'find the phrase&' exercise, a manipulation exercise, a speaking activity and a short writing activity. Also includes brief revision of the present tense and word order after &';weil'.

Powerpoint with questions and images to promote discussion about health and fitness. The clock in the corner of each slide is to encourage the students to keep talking for 60 seconds if they can. The questions could also be used to help structure written work. PS Typo fixed

Text describing the situation in Germany with regards to young people's involvement with illicit substances and excessive drinking. The text is followed by questions in English, a find the phrase exercise, a manipulation exercise based on equivalent stats from the UK, and finally a challenging extended writing task. This was produced for an able KS4 group but could easily be upgraded to AS material.

Playscript. An unlikely dialogue in which Belletrix Lestrange from Harry Potter and Bella from Twighlight discuss their differing approaches to health and fitness. A disagreement ensues about Voldemort's nose. Having practised and performed the playscript, students could (i) devise a dialogue in which two different fictional characters discuss the issue of health and fitness or (ii) devise a dialogue in which Bella and Belletrix take on a different GCSE topic.

Improbable dialogue in which Bella from Twighlight and Belletrix Lestrange from Harry Potter compare and contrast the different routines of vampires and wizards. Embedded in the text is the complete paradigm of se coucher. The dialogue is followed by a 'Find the Phrase' exercise focussing on the reflexive verb 'se coucher', practice in writing the paradigms of other reflexives, and a gap-fill exercise in which students must supply the correct reflexive pronouns.

Fairly challenging text about the history of one of the oldest olympic disciplines. The gaps are all verbs in a variety of tenses. Will work on PC or IW.

Interactive drag and drop exercise. There are 100 different football words and phrases programmed into the game. The program will select ten items at random and shuffle the order of the items each time the game is opened. With luck, it will just about never be the same game twice. Will work on IW or PC.

Interactive multiple choice quiz on the London Olympics. The programme will shuffle the possible answers into a different order each time it is opened. Will work on PC or IW.

Summarising activity for students to complete after watching this gripping film about an attempt by German and Austrian climbers to scale the North Face of the Eiger in the 1930s. Students cut up the jumbled summary of the plot and re-arrange the cards in order to re-create the storyline. Solution enclosed on separate Word doc.
