Divide pupils into pairs and ask pupils to set up into teams on either end of the classroom. Pupils run/walk to their partner. Partner 1 reads out the phrases and partner 2 writes down the phrase. The objective being to write down phrases correctly with accurate spellings and accents. They then swap roles. The winning team presents the teacher with 5 accurate sentences. This is a fun way of getting pupils working collaboratively and improving listening and written skills.

Reading text using past, present and future tense. Pupils demonstrate understanding of the text to find key expressions. The solution is provided for the teacher to go through with pupils in more detail. A writing and speaking template is included for pupils to complete independent work. This is an enjoyable task and helps you to find out more information about your pupils. Easy to edit or print too.

Resources to support MON ALBUM DE FAMILLE - Speaking and writing frame to help pupils provide the following information - age, name, character, whether they like sport, animals, hair and eye description, physical description, where they live. Questions are included and good use of colour coding for differentiation. - Starter - key phrase match up to prompt vocab recall from year 7 - Teacher presentation revising mon/ma/mes - Reading and translation worksheet where pupils read a paragraph providing personal information and using their translation skills complete a crossword - there is a differentiated version provided too as well as the teacher solution This is a great lesson for getting to know new classes. A collation of 23 match opinions to revise opinion vocab e.g. “les joueurs étaient décevants” these are differentiated into two resources: 1 being a worksheet with all 23 phrases and pupils decide whether it’s a positive or negative opinion. The second resource being a set of dominoes to develop and reinforce opinion vocab. The majority of the phrases have been taken from player and manager match interviews. The phrases are easy to adapt for other contexts. Easy to print and edit.

This is an excellent resource for pupil to independently prepare written or spoken presentations to describe a football match. Pupils can creatively produce match reports or predictions using the vocabulary mat. It is ideally suited to higher KS4 pupils and KS5 pupils. The first sheet has over 120 expressions related to football and describing a sporting event. The second sheet is equally extensive covering the countries involved, the stadiums, vocabulary for emphasising your point, adverbs, vocabulary to conclude your report, vocabulary for listing your reasons, time phrases, linking words and opinions so can be used for other topics. This resource is easy to print and to edit. It is suitable for classwork, homework and cover work. it will work really well as an end of term activity.

This is an excellent game for pupils to build their numeracy skills and extend their sentences. A number flashes on the left hand side and pupils use the sentence openers to say what is in their house and bedroom. They make the multiple using the grid. This can be extended using negative structures. This is a fun way for pupils to practice their speaking and can lead on to a written task. This was highlighted during an OFSTED visit as outstanding practice as the conversation developed freely and improved pupils' confidence and attainment levels. Easy to edit for other topics.
