This is a student help sheet designed to hep pupils to describe characters through their actions. Using the show don’t tell method this help sheet has lots of ideas of how to describe characters in various situations be it: fear, joy, cold, relaxation and many more. This was designed and used in YEAR 5/6. This help sheet can be used during all creative writing units to develop the sense of using inferences as a description techniques to develop character. The resource can be laminated and handed out to pupils during a lesson, or even used as a display prompt sheet.
This resource contains a selection of three sets of 3 marker questions which can be photocopied. The three mark questions all focus on inferences, by drawing inferences such as characters thoughts, feelings and motives from their actions.
