Jeff Buckley Key Term Matching Activity

A 'Call My Bluff' of Jeff Buckley key terms - there are three definitions of certain key terms in Grace. Students work out which is the best fit. There are some definitions that students can discount straight away; e.g. EQ is not ET's cousin. Other key terms can be used. Useful for a starter for Grace and could be used for a review aid if the options are harder to discern the difference between.

Useful for students to cut up (in lines) and put lyrics together in order, match up with the Gaelic or even to cut in random shapes to put together.

Match the key facts about the composer to the composer - e.g. 'Born in 1944&', &';Composed around 80 songs' and &'This piece can be described as an anthem&'; as well as specific features from the pieces - e.g. 'ABC structure&', &';Tierce de Picardie' and &'Two part writing section is homorhythmic&';\n\nFeedback would be great, thanks!

Based on using Sibelius on iMacs. Ignore first page as it fits our current set up at school. Includes functions such as adding comments, adding in second voices, seeing one part at a time and staff size as well as (iMac-related) shortcuts all of which can be done for PC by changing the 'cmd&' button to &';control' button.\n\nAny feedback would be great, thanks!

Edexel Music GCSE Composition booklet

A step by step guide of how to compose in the different styles of music. I have used only the following: Minimalism, African, Baroque/Classical/Romantic and Pop. Includes ways to get top marks for structure, developing an idea, exploitation of the medium as well as snippets of example scores. This is based on the previous Edexcel specification. It's a working document so far from finished but feedback would be great, thanks!
