A quiz covering the set works by Weelkes, Haydn, Stravinsky, Perkins and Beatles plus some key terms. This is not fully complete as there is an audio section (finding the videos on Youtube) as well as a visual music extract section; I planned to add in a few random bars (in sequence) of a part of each set work for students to recognize. This can be easily edited, added to etc.

Useful for putting landmarks on the vocal set works (Weelkes, Handel, Stravinsky, Beatles and Carl Perkins). Examples include: Cadential 6-4s, first theme appearing, E major chord etc. students can cut these out and stick them on a magnified and/or photocopied score to highlight areas of theoretical interest. Lots more terms that can be added.

This is useful if you make a photocopy of the Grace score. This document is for students to cut out the key terms and stick them in their paper scores, color them in etc. Useful as a review tool or in applying key terms.

Students have cut outs of 1 bar rhythms - teacher plays a particular rhythm - students cross off which one is played. It can also be used with a student demonstrating a rhythm and the students working out which rhythm it is or as a plenary as students are leaving the classroom to choose a rhythm to perform.

A bizarre list of words that describes things that we would normally call a 'thingamajig&' e.g. creating the shape of a bowl with your hands is called a &';gowpen', the moment when you realise what you should&'ve said in a conversation is 'l&';esprit d'escalier' and &'phosphenes&'; are the swirling lights you see when you rub your eyes. There are lots of other words there that students can choose which is the correct definition. A fun form time and PSHE filler!

Can be used to print - cut out - laminate - write names of instruments on back of the instruments to be used as a starter/plenary: identify the instruments, instrument 'snap&', pictionary, hangman etc.

A list of questions on the harmony and themes of the Symphony of Psalms by Stravinsky. Cut up each sentence and students find the answer for the question. The amount of points per question determines the difficulty of the question. No answers are provided so students have to show you the answer or prove the answer. Can be used for other elements of the Stravinsky or other elements of the other set works.

A cut-out guitar fretboard layout for students - useful for class band lessons, students can learn how to read the layout and work out which notes they may need.

A 'Call My Bluff' of Jeff Buckley key terms - there are three definitions of certain key terms in Grace. Students work out which is the best fit. There are some definitions that students can discount straight away; e.g. EQ is not ET's cousin. Other key terms can be used. Useful for a starter for Grace and could be used for a review aid if the options are harder to discern the difference between.

A worksheet of associating certain instruments with heroes or villains. It doesn't contain any links to tracks but you can use certain film and TV theme tunes to use for associations. For example, Double Bass - Jaws - Villain. Trumpet - Indiana Jones - Hero. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

Used as a plenary for a short performing styles unit based on Blues, Reggae and Acoustic music. Students work out the style of music from the description, for example, this music originated from the Carribean - Reggae. Can be used to tack on other styles of music to edit it into a bigger scale activity for KS4. Any feedback would be great, thanks!

An open task for KS3 - Year 7 task or Year 9 revision. Feel free to cater it to the needs of your class, there are lots of other key terms that can be added and lots of other tasks that can branch off from this.

Useful for a starter for working out notes on a stave - once pupils work out how to apply FACE and ACEG they can complete the rest of the notes, cut out and stick in their books.
