This resource contains 2 different crosswords plus a corresponding word list for Spanish sports vocabulary.
Students are instructed to:
1. Write a Spanish sport next to each clue.
2. Complete the puzzle.
3. Write a Spanish sport under each clip art image.
The 2 crosswords use the same vocabulary words, but have a different layout.
These crosswords work well for a substitute lesson. After completing the worksheets, partners can quiz each other from the vocabulary list.

Spanish Day of the Dead Board Game and Vocabulary - This is a 32 square board game containing images of 10 different images associated with Day of the Dead. Students shake the die, move that number of spaces, say the word in Spanish, and see who reaches the end first. Students unable to say the word must return to the beginning.
Images included are bread of the dead, candle, cemetery, marigold, offering/altar, pierced paper, skeleton, skeleton figuring, sugar skull, and water. Day of the Dead and family are also included on the vocabulary page for a total of 12 words.

This is a 2-person, 9 line skit between a young girl and her grandmother who are discussing the timing of the girl's birthday and the preceding holidays. Dates, calendar, and holidays are the focus of the skit. Day of the Dead, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are mentioned, along with the girl's birthday. Additional key words and phrases used in the skit are: ¿cuál es la fecha de hoy?, la fecha de hoy es, querer + infinitive, me encanta, claro, gustar + infinitive, el primero de octubre, poder + infinitive, and there are 3 different Spanish dates mentioned in the skit.

This is a 2-person, 9 line skit between a doctor and his patient who is suffering from stomach pain. Meals verbs desayunar, almorzar, merendar, and cenar are the focus of the skit. Additional key words and phrases used in the skit are: ¿a qué hora?, tengo, ordinal numbers primero, segundo, and tercero, a las + time of day and de la mañana/tarde/noche, ay, caramba, todos los días, gracias por, and poder + infinitive.

After one makes it to the top of the stairs, students switch parts. The activity contains 35 irregular verb conjugations of the verbs comer, dar, estar, estudiar, hacer, ir, jugar, practicar, saber, ser, tener, ver, and vivir. The download contains:

This is a 32 square board game containing Spanish letters of the alphabet, and the words empezar and ganar. Students shake the die, move that number of spaces, say the letter in Spanish and see who reaches the end first. Students unable to say the letter must return to the beginning.
The game board can also be projected and used to practice letters, or to play the flyswatter game.

Spanish Reflexive Verbs Human Bingo Game Speaking Activity & Follow-Up - This activity uses 16 different reflexive verbs. Examples of verbs used are acostarse, despertarse, ducharse, lavarse, vestirse, divertirse, sentirse, and dormirse. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verb to the third person. 2. Write an appropriate Spanish reflexive infinitive under 6 images at the bottom of the paper. This is a fun, helpful activity for students learning reflexives, and it's also a great back to school review / get to know you activity for students with prior Spanish experience.
This Thanksgiving chant contains 9 different food words, ordinal numbers from first to tenth, 2 ir a + infinitive phrases and a tener expression. Each vocabulary word is repeated 4 times either in its entirety, or partially for longer words which gives students lots of pronunciation practice. The repetitive nature helps students learn the vocabulary quickly. Once they do, they enjoy seeing how quickly they can say the chant!

A TES best seller of mine! Add some creative fun to grammar in your classroom with this Spanish Mad Lib! The majority of the story is in the present tense but the preterit is used a few times to narrate. Included are 3 pages as follows: 1. Students list 27 words according to the description indicated, such as adjective, noun, infinitive verb, name or adverb. 2. Students transfer the 27 words onto the story page. 3. Students translate the story to English on the lined page. This item is fun for students to create and even more fun to present in class! It's also a good activity for a substitute teacher lesson plan.
Spanish Winter Activities Human Bingo Speaking Activity - Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. The grids contain questions such as, "Patinas sobre hielo con tu familia o tus amigos?" Examples of other verbs used are montar, ir, pescar, tener, hacer, jugar, ver, esquiar and caminar. When a student replies yes to a question, the interviewing student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. Several squares have a second question such as "con quien?" which gives both students additional speaking practice. When a student fills the entire grid, he shouts, "Bingo!" Also included are suggestions for using the Human Bingo activity and a follow up written assignment.
Spanish Verbs Querer and Ser with Professions Human Bingo Game Speaking Activity - Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes to each of the 16 boxes. Each grid contains the question "Quieres ser" plus a profession and "en el futuro". When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. When a student fills the entire grid, he shouts, "Bingo!" Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verb to the third person. 2. Provide the English meaning of each profession. 3. Write an appropriate Spanish profession word under 6 images at the bottom of the paper. This is a great back to school speaking review activity for students with prior Spanish experience.
These Super Bowl booklets are updated annually. Each booklet contains 16 pages: the title page with 15 additional pages. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet that contains text and illustrations of words associated with the Super Bowl such as ball, team, coaches, referee, cheerleaders, stadium, etc. They then sketch and create their own version using the text only template. The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary words. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text.

Spanish Sports Song With Actions - Juego Fútbol - Get your students up and moving! This original song, which is sung to the tune of a popular ballad, features 5 different sports, 5 different verbs and 5 different places. The sports are soccer, bowling, fishing, swimming and jai alai, the verbs are jugar, hacer, ir de pesca, hacer and tirar, the places are el campo, la bolera, el rio, la piscina and el fronton. Students of all ages love to sing this and will do so often because of the catchy tune with dramatic actions. The English translation is included.
