Each booklet contains 12 pages: the title page with 11 additional pages containing common Spanish family words. Words included are mamá, papá, abuelo/a, primo/a, tío/a, hermano/a, and perro. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet that contains text and illustrations of family members. "Quiero a mi" is repeated 12 times so students learn the phrase quickly and easily. They then create their own version using the text only template. They'll enjoy sharing their creations with the family members featured in their booklets. These booklets work great as a Spanish Valentine's Day activity! The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the family vocabulary words. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text.
Spanish New Year Writing Assignment / Essay - Querer + Infinitive - This item contains 2 assignments. The first is a writing prompt with 29 Spanish infinitives/holiday words, plus the months of the year. Students write about what they want to do in each month of the new year. There is a variety of suggested vocabulary which makes it easy for students to complete their writing assignments and makes this item useful for all levels of Spanish. Vocabulary includes many holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter and more. A 100 - 200 word essay works well for first year students. The word count can be changed for other levels and varying ability levels. The second assignment is a 279 word sample essay. The sample essay makes a great translation homework assignment or it can be used for full class viewing to prep students to write their own essays. Both activities make great substitute lessons.
Spanish Christmas Papa Noel Que Ves Ahi 2 Emergent Readers - Each booklet contains 12 pages: the title page with 11 additional pages. Every other page has a Papa Noel with text saying "Papa Noel, Papa Noel, que ves ahi?" The other 7 pages have Papa Noel's response with items such as a reno feliz, nina buena, nino simpatico, duende bajo, la senora Noel, and un muneco de nieve. Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet that contains text and illustrations. They then create their own version using the text only template. Students will have fun sketching these items and will enjoy sharing with their classmates and family members! The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary words. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures that correspond to the text.
Spanish Three Kings' Day Skit - Speaking Activity - Christmas/Navidad - This is a 2-person, 12 line skit about a mom explaining the upcoming Three Kings Day holiday to her young daughter. The skit contains several useful grammatical structures such as ir a + infinitive, tener expressions, and contains vocabulary and cultural information about Three Kings' Day.

Both include the English translation.
This activity includes soy with 16 different descriptive adjectives of people. Examples of adjectives are: feliz, trabajador, perezoso, inteligente, generoso, consentido, guapo, and atlético. Students will practice 3 forms of ser in the present tense with these activities. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes when asked about statements in each of the 16 boxes. Each box contains 2 short statements. Sample statements are, "Soy inteligente. Quiero ser médico en el futuro." When a student replies yes to the questions, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid.
Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to:
1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verbs to the third person.
2. Write an appropriate Spanish descriptive adjective under 6 images at the bottom of the paper.
These are fun activities for students learning ser and descriptive adjectives, and they're also great back to school get to know you / review activities for students with prior Spanish experience.

Spanish Winter Olympic Sports - Deportes Olimpicos 2 Emergent Readers - Each booklet contains 12 pages: the title page with 11 additional pages containing sports included in the winter Olympic games. One booklet contains text and images, the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. Vocabulary words included are alpine skiing, nordic skiing figure skating, luge, hockey, speed skating, bobsled, snowboarding, biathlon, ski jumping, and curling. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page. Students first read and cut out the booklet that contains text and clip art images. Spanish Countries and Capitals Game Show Writing Prompt - This is a fun way to get students of varying abilities writing while learning about Hispanic countries and capitals. The writing prompt provides enough vocabulary and phrases for beginners, and it works for more advanced students by adjusting the word requirement. The download includes: 1. Writing prompt - The writing prompt contains: a. Vocabulary associated with game shows such as host, contestants, you won, you're right, you're wrong, etc. b. This is a 2-person, 9 line skit between a young girl and her grandmother who are discussing the timing of the girl's birthday and the preceding holidays. Dates, calendar, and holidays are the focus of the skit. Thanksgiving and Christmas are mentioned, along with the girl's birthday. Additional key words and phrases used in the skit are: Quelle est la date aujourd'hui?, la date aujourd'hui c’est , vouloir + infinitive, j'adore, aimer + infinitive, pouvoir + infinitive, and there are 3 different French dates mentioned in the skit.

This is a 2-person skit between a traveler checking in to a hotel in France and the hotel receptionist. Students must respond to typical questions, spell their names, provide their phone numbers, etc. It's short enough for students to memorize in a couple days of practice and utilizes useful, everyday language. Your students will find this role play fun to practice and present! It's also a great speaking activity for a sub lesson.
A follow-up translation worksheet is included.
