Spanish Thanksgiving Foods and Colors Noun / Adjective Agreement - Students practice agreement in number and gender of adjectives and nouns using 16 Spanish Thanksgiving foods and color words such as "the red cranberries." The answer key is included. Also included: 1. Word list for Thanksgiving vocabulary 2. Word list of color vocabulary This is a good substitute lesson plan because students can quiz each other on the food and colors vocabulary after completing the worksheet.

Students sketch a French "selfi" in the cell phone and then write corresponding sentences giving basic information and descriptions of themselves. There are 3 versions of the activity to allow for differentiation. The first version gives sample sentence structure and students must add their own details such as hair and eye color. The second version gives the requirements only. For example:
Version 1: a. Je m'appelle ____. (name)
Version 2: a. Name
Version 3: This version instructs students to write a paragraph about their selfies.
This is a fun presentational activity, and the completed activities will look great decorating a bulletin board or hallway!

Spanish Thanksgiving Skit / Reader's Theater, and Translations - This is a 30 line dialogue for 6 people that can be used as a skit or a reader's theater, if desired. The 6 people are preparing to eat Thanksgiving dinner. The characters are: Abuelo, Abuela, Javier, Rosa, Mamá, and Papá. The 2 children have conversations with their grandparents while the mom and dad do final preparations for the dinner. They then join the rest at the table. The dialogue contains many Thanksgiving food words, plus many useful phrases such as pásame, claro que sí, te gusta, me encanta, qué lástima, tengo sed, tengo mucha hambre, por supuesto, vale, voy a tomar, and more. Spanish Reflexives Paragraph Translations - English/Spanish and Spanish/English - Students practice a variety of verbs as they translate a paragraph about 2 girls getting ready and going to school in the morning. First and third person singular verbs in the preterit are used. Sample verbs are: despertarse, levantarse, bañarse, lavarse, secarse, maquillarse, afeitarse, and irse. First, have students translate from Spanish to English, then have them translate from English to Spanish after they have better understanding and have had sufficient practice with reflexive verbs and associated vocabulary. This is an alphabetized list of 215 adjectives used to describe people. The comprehensive list is great for beginners as well as for advanced students. They will use this reference often and for as long as they study Spanish!
