All of the displays and presentations are in this resource. The "Add a source" files are PPT that explain how they can be used to create double-sided handouts for an activity or homework exercise. Find a technique that works for you and your students. I have created four different potential worksheets from the PPTs, you could create six more from the resources here. Check out my BUNDLE of Jack the Ripper Lessons. The idea behind these lessons is for the students to determine which of the suspects is their “preferred” Jack and examine why. Students can do their own research on their suspect at casebook ORG Vic Reeves does a physical and psychological breakdown of the suspects. This can be shown as Lesson 2 or 3. I prefer to show it as Lesson 3 and have the students complete their suspect profile or even present an alternative suspect due to new information.

This resource contains the QR code images, a QR Code Homework Assignment and the QR presentation, which would allow you to create your own homework assignments from it. GCSE History – Henry VIII & ministers revision activity I have created a lesson using advice columns as my template. Ask Abby was the most famous American columnist so I have used her as inspiration for this creative approach to revision. I have included versions of the worksheets in word, pdf and image versions. The lesson plan uses the 5 min lesson plan template. If you like this lesson I will have other topics and a bundle available shortly.

This is a History lesson (or two, depending on the students’ progress or ability) which examines the Gas attacks through sources and then determines the gas’ effectiveness through that prism. There are three versions of the worksheet which are in DOC and PDF format. There is a feel sample version available

These questions cover the key topics 1.1 to 3.3 of the new Edexcel GCSE on the American West. Teachers can insert these questions into your lesson slides. They can print them off and use them as starter, recap or plenary activities. They can amend them to meet the needs of their students. I choose the PowerPoint format because you can print different numbers of slides to a page and you can include them in your work.

HISTORICAL 8 IS MY CARD GAME TO HELP WITH REVISION. It is a mixture of standard info/flashcard and the Articulate board game. This is the first time I have shared this online. You (or your team) have 30 seconds to name eight historical events, people places etc. linked to a central title event or theme. After eight rounds you add up the score to decide the winner. 1-32 Players or 2-4 Teams Double Jeopardy: Play for 16 rounds Pick a Key Topic: Play only one key topic at a time Extended Time: Give one minute instead of 30 seconds 20 Questions: Allow for 20 attempts only to identify the eight Historical Hint: After the round you can ask for one hint only Random Score: Assign points based on the number they identify No Timer: Play until all eight are identified Hint Away: You can receive hints throughout the round. You can add other variations to this one.

This is a useful revision resource for the new Early Elizabethan History GCSE Unit from Edexcel and other exam boards. Basically, each unit has a central title and it is up to the opponent/teammate/student to identify 8 key events, people, themes etc that link to it. You can decide on how much time you want to give them. There are more relevant cards and there are even some cards on exam questions from Edexcel. After eight rounds you add up the score to decide the winner. 1-32 Players or 2-4 Teams Single player - Narrative Revision: This is a form of revision with which all eight of the Historical 8 must be used to create a story or narrative which meets the criteria of the title. This will aid their recall, as stories are easier to remember than facts alone. This can be a game as well as the partner can judge the effectiveness of the story and award points.

GCSE History – Superpower Rivalry revision activity. This lesson uses the framework of an advice column to aid in revision. There is a plan, a variety of worksheets and the presentation which provides an introduction and an example for students to emulate. To note an issue or event and give the next step/consequence for it. To note the positive and negative issues surrounding key events, developments, and flashpoints. To criticise and provide analysis and connections around the events or/and the leaders of these events.

This resource contains short and longer starter activities on the Nuremberg Trials. The PowerPoint is fully editable. I have included the Word Photos so you can edit them further or use them as posters Presentation Explained. Simply A4 print slide 2 for a poster. Show slide 3 or 5 as thinking starters before giving the answer using slide 4 or 6. Print out a class set of slide 7 for a practical starter activity for a tutorial period or relevant history lesson (or use slide 10) before showing the answer on slide 8 or showing websites from slide 9. More key events for On This Day will become available. Entire months will be available ready for the new year. You can use them in history class or with your tutor groups.

Learning objective is To use primary visual sources Learning outcomes are to annotate, to form an opinion through annotation, and develop that opinion by using evidence. Learning Outcomes (Success Criteria): • Some students must be aware of the types of conditions, their response to it and begin to form a sentence which explains this. • As above and should be supported through the use of a source or quotation. Some reference to the consequences, short or long term can be made. • As above and this could be a supported opinion. This opinion is explained in the context of the period

GCSE History – Weimar & Nazi Germany revision activity. Students create their own plea for advice and witty reply Fully resourced lesson with plan and worksheets. The topic lists can be useful independent of the lesson. To note what an issue or event and give the next steps to it. To note the positive and negative issues surrounding Weimar or those under Nazi Germany To criticise Nazi or Weimar measures and to support Weimar Successes.

Lesson can be used for all sorts - I have used it with Titanic in recent years. The five R's is a method used to break down and examine the historical significance of an event or person. Many historians have different variations of this method. The five R's we will use are: Remembered, revealed, remarked, resonates and resulted. The order does not necessarily matter, neither the need to do all five of them.

Useful for History lessons for all ages and other lessons too. FREE version available and TEMPLATE BUNDLE available. Create for in lesson activities and also for Homework tasks. PDFs cannot be edited. Docx files can be edited so you can add or take away the boxes along the timeline, colour them in or add relevant pictures. This can be useful when adapting this activity for use with a class in an ICT Suite.

These PPTs and DOCs examine the Cannon-Fodder source made famous by the leaders at the Treaty of Versailles. Basic speeches sheets put incorrect phrases into the leaders' mouths. Students have to sort these out. Good for a starter. A simple worksheet which could be a homework task. Locations of bombing to be noted on the map. Some students may add the number of bombings or other statistics. Look up my World War Two Bundle for a great deal on this resource

We all know what an elevator pitch is. Here I have adapted them to History. But you have bought the original so do what you will ;) Have your students complete one as an activity, starter, plenary or even a homework. Here are various worksheets and handouts in A5 and A4 format for them to complete. The Powerpoint explains it all. Have fun!

Word searches for topic 1 cover: Key topic 1.1 The Plains Indians: their beliefs and way of life Key topic 1.2 Migration and early settlement Key topic 1.3 Conflict and tension These are 1-page word searches with space for definitions and additional space to have students write out the keywords three times to improve spelling. There are also 2 to page versions which also have a small space below for a single definition and single three-times write up. These are useful starters and the 1-page versions are appropriate for aextended activity or homework.
