The following sheets can be used for optional or menu based homework for GCSE students taking AQA GCSE Business Studies. The files are editable. They are in multiple formats so you can adapt or just print from image, PDF or PowerPoint. These tasks range in difficulty but most will take between 15-30 minutes for GCSE students to complete.

Some have two pieces of WordArt. There are 16 in total. The PRINT version is the WordArt alone. The overlay is the same but with the unit heading so students can organise their thoughts. The 8 Key Words uses the WordArt and combines it with another paid resource to help with revision. They are in PDF so you can slice the A5 and have a quick exercise or discussion with them. Each page contains a cube to be cut out and glued together so that a student may roll the cube and give information relevant to the side it lands up on. These cubes will help with revision and can be used in a simple game with a cube for each person or table. They can roll their own or respond to another person’s cube. They are based on the Edexcel Unit framework but the key terms, events and people noted on the cubes can be used for another exam board. The blank versions are attached so that you and your students can create more of your own for this topic or others

See other topics and American West Bundles. GCSE American West is often divided into three topic areas. Word searches for topic 1, 2 & 3. These are editable Word documents. These are 1-page word searches with space for definitions and additional space to have students write out the keywords three times to improve spelling. There are also 2 to page versions which also have a small space below for a single definition and single three-times write up. These are useful starters and the 1-page versions are appropriate for an extended activity or homework. There is enough for use in 9 lessons. 9 starters and then can use one-page versions as homework

This lesson serves as an introduction to the Jacobites and how symbolism is used by them to export their message of rebellion. The main task is to understand and create a symbol for Jacobite. usage or you could insert Jacobite images and have student analyse the imagery for the symbolism they have just uncovered. There are info and activity sheets for them to complete. I gained a round of applause from a class after getting the bulk of this done in an interview lesson that lasted 30 minutes. The students continued to work on it after I left! There is enough here for TWO lessons if you have not covered symbolism or any aspect of the Jacobites before.

The Places have basic starting with or ending with to distinguish whether they are Roman, Viking, Saxon or Norman. Great for post-1066 lesson or learning about local geography. Use a local or national map. The Words tasks are quite simple and show the students how many words in English are actually from elsewhere.

I also have Stuart and Civil War Bundles. The ALT or Alternative lesson has a greater focus on the shifting attitudes and how it creates the fear of witches. There are sources to examine from textbooks. These files can be edited down so you can use just a few sources with your classes. The regular lesson is very similar but uses original sources from the time. This can be edited down to make it easier for your class. Swimming Sheet can be re examined as homework.

This is a lesson that makes use of freely available INFO sheets and asks students to extract relevant points from different sources and communicated their answers onto a PROFILE sheet. The ALTERNATIVE LESSON or extension lesson makes use of the different visual sources and poses the question on her he wanted people to see him. These lessons allow you to explore the causes in different ways. They do work without textbooks. Lesson 1 has the students looking at the causes from the point of view of Cromwell and looking at them as Power, Money and Religious causes. You should watch the first 10 minutes of the Cromwell Film. It is on DVD and edited parts are available online. Lesson 2 has the students exam a list of cases as if they were Power, Money or Religion or Political, Economic, Social, Cultural or Miltary factors. Lesson 3 or alternative for Lesson 2 looks at the list of events as Long, Medium, Short term and Trigger Causes. Here you can explore the snowball effect of events or shifting pendulum. (Watch more of the film) Lesson 4 makes use of the students previous, three lessons, your discussions and the film for them to form their own opinions. There are model answers and various supporting documents for them to use. These lessons can be combined. You can make use of the Wordles as fascinators or starter activities.
