Here are three lessons for the novel Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman.
We have a context lesson, an analysis lesson and a theme lesson.

This resource includes 5 figures from the LGBTQ+ community which can be shared during Pride month. This resource was orginally created for LGBTQ+ History Month but can be used during Pride as a way to raise awareness for key figures within the community.

Section B The 19th-century novel: students will answer one question on their novel of choice. They will be required to write in detail about an extract from the novel and then to write about the novel as a whole.
Here is a sheet to help with students idenfiying key details about characters and then using quotes to analyse. This is a gentle introduction to analysisng charcters and their characteristics. perfect for KS3 or KS4 students with a lower ability in English.
This is in line with the national cirriculum.

This resource has a powerpoint on speeches and a copt of Greta Thunbergs speech to give to students to annotate. This is an introduction to speeches and their impact on auidences.
This is in line with the national cirriculum and AQA exam board. This introduction to speeches will allow students to understand their purpose along improving their reading and writing skills.
The English language paper 2 will ask a question on persausive/argumentative text so these resources are a great insight to how to tackle this particular skill.

Here is a poster displaying a paragraph sctrutre that is effective when analysing a peice of text. This is for PETAL.
This would make a good focus point in a classroom highlighting how ytou should structure a parapgraph.

I have gone through examiners reports and given insight on what they are really looking for and how successful studnets answered the questions.

These reterival practise question will help improve the retnetion and cognitive skills of your students. Retrieval practise is a great tool for revision as is requires students to use their long term memory.
This lines up with national curriculum requirements and allows students to revise key aspects of their classwork.
