This is an assembly I wrote for the children leaving KS1 and going to KS2, but this could be adapted. The assembly starts with the Final Countdown by Europe with the words adapted for school. The assembly then goes through the children's learning journey for the term and has a Growth mindset theme. The final song is 7 Years by Lukas Graham with words changed to match a school theme. Both can be adapted further.
Based on the son, 7 Years by Lukas Graham, I wrote this version for my Y2’s leaving to go to the juniors as it was a different school. The words can be adapted to apply to Year 6 and Year 11 too, if required.
I wrote this song for my Year 2 children as they were leaving for the juniors at a different school. This can easily be adapted for Year 6 and Year 11, if required.

If you’re teaching Florence Nightingale, these missions can help to add practical activities to your lessons. 1 mission for each week which focusses on a different aspect of what Florence Nightingale experienced. Missions help to develop character traits in your children, such as team work, resilience, empathy, self-awareness, perseverance, excellence and communication. Missions can be set up in your hall, outside or in the classroom using simple PE equipment. As missions are not all focussed on winning, children work in groups to develop different character traits. There are designing tasks, art tasks and links with science included in the missions.
There are 12 missions, with a 13th for a reward mission; this could be additional playtime or a bouncy castle!
Links for the practical activities include PE, Art, History and Science, all matching the Year 2 curriculum.
This reading pack contains the story, What’s it worth. Joey? Set in industrial Britain around the 1970’s - 1980’s, the story is about a boy called Joey and his skill at spotting valuable items.
Joey is a great story to look at slang terms, life in the past, gang life, peer pressure, influences, PSHE, Citizenship, British Values and history.
There are 8 resources all together, 1 being the main text and 7 supporting activities, including character descriptions, assessment / reciprocal / guided reading questions, similar to SAT type questions (matching, sequencing, find and copy words / phrases).
This text has some challenging language and phrases to develop children’s knowledge of word and phrase meanings.
Suitable for children in Year 5 upwards (KS2 and KS3).
An 18 page booklet including a brief introduction of the history of Britain and timeline up to the current day. Chronological order of British history beginning with the Celts, moving to the Romans, Saxons, and Vikings. There is a brief discussion on who had the greatest impact and influence.
This resource is suitable for Year 5, Year 6 and Year 7 history studies; English persuasive writing, and balanced arguments. The texts can also be broken down into sections and used as WAGOLL's (What A Good One Looks Like) for teacher modelling, or for children to read, edit, evaluate, redraft and improve. The resource can also be used as an information tool for research purposes or for guided / reciprocal reading.
KS2 / KS3
Using all available documents produced by the DFE, this support document has been created to incorporate all relevant documents to support schools in teaching the new Spelling Curriculum for each Year group for the 2014 National curriculum.
This document goes from Phase 1 (Letters and Sounds) up to Phase 10 in Year 6. Statutory and Non-statutory guidance is included.
References are made to Letters and Sounds, Support for Spelling and Grammar for Writing; indicating locations and relevant activities and cross references for each Year group to the relevant resource.
A massive task but a great time saver for anyone looking at structuring and supporting their spelling whole school. The document can be used as a reference and a planning tool and can be highlighted and passed on to the next teacher.
