A bundle of resources I used with as student with Autism who was finding creative wring challenging. Concrete experiences (receiving letters, doing a mock interview, photographs) and a clear structure helped him to construct a successful narrative with descriptions, and a clear structure.
Information about tanks of the future with illustration that I used for a reading/research activity where my student summarised each section into one or two sentences. you could also make comprehension questions to use with this.
This is suitable for Entry Level Certificate or very basic GCSE students as an initial introduction (Note: I have simplified this a lot for my ELC students so some scientists may feel parts are wrong)
End of topic reward lesson design, then make, then decorate biscuits.

Sieve flour.
Cut and rub in fat to fine breadcrumbs.
add sugar and any flavourings.
add beaten egg and bring together.
roll out and cut out shapes
bake for 10-20 mins at 180 until straw coloured
allow to cool.
PPT introduction to creating miniature world photographs and some large photographs which students can paste images onto (cut and stick) or on the computer.
Simple worksheet giving information on the function of organelles in simple plant and animal cells (cell membrane, cell wall, chloroplasts, nucleus and cytoplasm). I have used this for ELC science and Foundation GCSE.
Survey to find the cost people with pay for a Bacon Sandwich followed by 3 activities to create a pictogram, scatter graph and a bar graph.
Because I work in a special school we have been able to make and sell bacon sandwiches which has been motivating for pupils.
