This 15 page workbook introduces students to the use of PEEL (Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link) to write a detailed Literature Essay. Using Emily Dickinson’s “Because I Could Not Stop For Death” students first annotate and then complete a series of topic statements to create PEEL paragraphs in a scaffolded poetry analysis essay.
