History and Ethos

The school offers contemporary British international education to students from Pre-Nursery to Year Eleven.
Our Vision
Make a difference through education.
Our Mission
Educate the leaders of tomorrow, providing the knowledge, skills and values they need to make our world a better place.
Each element of the School’s mission is infused with meaning:
Leaders of Tomorrow
By leaders, we mean people around us who have a certain type of skills: the knowledge and competence that comes from their learning and experience, and their ability to motivate others to learn, grow and act accordingly. It involves recognizing that you are a true leader only when you have earned the trust of others, and when others recognise you as such.
Leaders do not learn their place in the world - they make their place in the world.
Make a Difference
Making a difference is when people create real value for society, and who create value before claiming value. There are many ways of making a positive difference: as a student, as a teacher, as a parent, as an active citizen of your community. Indeed, what distinguishes Heritage School is that our students and staff members demonstrate, develop and disseminate leadership skills in all that we do.
Make our World a Better Place
We understand that our world is changing and has challenging issues which require a global perspective. To address these challenging problems the world needs more leaders with a global mindset.
That is why our first component of the mission is educating leaders, which we do in many ways - through our academic curriculum, values based learning, and much more.
Our Values
The mission of Heritage School is to educate the leaders of tomorrow, providing the knowledge, skills and values they need to make our world a better place. Achieving this mission requires a trustful and respectful environment where people are free to express themselves and to continually seek truth and excellence in what they do. Students, staff, parents and our alumni accept these principles when they join the Heritage community.
In doing so, they agree to follow the following Community Values:
Respect
We act with no harm to other’s feelings and seek to treat one another the way we want to be treated.
We honor diversity and consider ideas and opinions that are new or different to our own.
Responsibility
We are ready to own tasks and duties and get them done.
We are conscious of the actions we take and confident in making difficult choices.
We are responsible for ourselves, others and our environment.
Growth Mindset
Our abilities change and grow through determination and resilience, by setting high goals and being open to innovation.
We accept difficulties and failures as opportunities to grow and we seek inspiration in others’ success.
Destination and Campus Location
Moscow. Europe’s easternmost and largest capital city thrills with its artistry, history and majesty. Moscow exudes prosperity and vigour through her diverse architecture, from the vibrantly painted churches decorated with golden domes to carved-marble metro stations. Cosmopolitan in flavour, Russia's capital hosts an active and diverse expat community. Moscow always has something to offer from spacious green parks, world-class opera and ballet, facilities for every kind of imaginable sport, and endless dining experiences. And better yet, it offers the perfect jumping-off point for countless tourist destinations across Europe and beyond.
Heritage International School is located in the east of the city centre, part of a luxury residential area where many visiting foreign families live, surrounded by beautiful gardens and parks. There are numerous business centres near the campus. The school facilities are brand new and opened in September 2020 for students from Pre-Nursery to Year Six, with secondary school pupils joining in September 2021. We teach both the Cambridge and the Russian curricula and have an exciting extra-curricular activities programme. All classes are limited to a maximum of 18 students, with the younger years receiving additional classroom support through Learning Assistants and Nannies. Throughout the school, the Cambridge curriculum is taught for approximately 75% of the time with the remainder given to the Russian curriculum. Our expatriate students study Russian as an additional language but also have time to explore their own interests through a personalised learning programme. Our education is based on a values-based education system.
