Robert Blake School is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly effective Maths teacher to join our dedicated team. We are looking for a passionate individual with an excellent track record in teaching mathematics, who wishes to develop their career in mathematics and gain whole school leadership experience. As a Lead Practitioner you would also work as part of the Quality of Education Team to support excellent teaching, learning and assessment at Key Stage 3 across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality maths teaching to students.
  • Deliver high-quality maths CPD.
  • Support and mentor other maths teachers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the maths curriculum.
  • Support the Raising Standards lead in ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and achievement and leading in the monitoring, evaluation and review of standards and provision at Key Stage 3 across the school.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maths teacher with a strong track record of success.
  • Deep passion for the teaching of mathematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Someone who passionately believes that all children can achieve, no matter their starting point, background or needs.

Robert Blake School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Bridgwater, Somerset. There are currently 975 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.

Robert Blake School is named for a distinguished 17th-century military commander who was born in Bridgwater. The town is located to the west of the Quantocks and has a population of 41,000.

The school is housed in a wonderful building completed in 2012, and boasts fantastic facilities.  The school environment provides every opportunity for students to learn and achieve.
