OLA is an independent, coeducational day school located just outside Oxford which provides a warm, supportive atmosphere in which exceptional pastoral care and an innovative, inclusive culture underpin all that we do.
A well qualified and experienced professional is required to join the School's pastoral team in this term-time only position. The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a collaborative team whilst having responsibility for their own area of work. The postholder will be responsible for providing a confidential counselling service to pupils and students of the school. The role is supported by an Assistant Counsellor.
The ideal candidate will work 8.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

The ideal candidate:
- Post-graduate Diploma or Masters level in Counselling or Psychtherapy
- Accredited, registered member of BACP, UKCP, NBPC or equivalent
- Experience of working with children and young people
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Professional, proactive, with a 'can-do' attitude
- Excellent listening skills
- Knowledge of local mental health issues and Oxfordshire CAMHS service
- Good communication and organisation skills
- Understands the importance of confidentiality
- Patient, friendly and approachable
- Understanding and supportive of the School's ethos
