Job overview
For an exceptional candidate, we offer the opportunity to join an academically ambitious school which is striving for a vibrant and rich learning experience to futureproof pupils and deliver high value-added results.
We seek a well-qualified and inspirational professional to teach Physics at all levels up to, and including, A Level. Physics is based within the Science Faculty, along with Chemistry, Biology and Academic PE. The Head of Chemistry is also the Head of Science.
At GCSE, pupils study AQA Combined Science (Specification 8464) or separate Sciences (Specifications 8461, 8462 and 8463), and OLA Sixth students also study AQA (Specification A H556). All pupils at OLA study Biology, Chemistry and Physics in Years 7, 8 and 9, and decisions are made about Combined Science or separate Sciences for Year 10. Pupils are taught in small groups throughout the school, and A-level Physics is popular.
Candidates who are able to teach another subject should make this clear in their application.
We welcome applications from both experienced candidates, ECTs and those at the very start of their teaching careers. We support teachers who wish to complete an on-the-job PGCE, and this is done in partnership with the University of Buckingham.
The post of Scholarships Coordinator is also available for suitably experienced candidates. A job description can be provided upon request and an interest should be expressed clearly in your application. For further details please contact Mrs Hayley Green, at hr@ola.org.uk
