Becta, the government agency that promotes ICT in education, wants teachers to have a say in the development of the National Grid for Learning (NGfL).
The NGfL was launched three years ago and was designed to be the ideal starting point for teachers wanting to use the web with students or for their own development. Becta plans to set up focus groups to get the views of teachers, some of whom may have little experience of using ICT. The groups will also look at stes within the NGfL portal, including the Virtual Teacher Centre, the FE Hub, and the Inclusion site.
Charlotte Aynsley, education officer for Becta, says: “The NGfL will only meet the needs of government if it meets the needs of key education stakeholders.
