Schooldays are the best days of your life, apparently - but not necessarily all of them, according to members of the TES online staffroom. Tartetatin wants to know if fellow posters preferred their primary or secondary schools, after confessing to favouring secondary.
“I didn’t feel the need to ‘fake it’ with my high school friends,” she says, in contrast to her primary school experience, where she had to pretend to be in love with the more talented* half of Wham! “I had to fake a love of Andrew Ridgeley, boys, fighting and smoking.”
Fenty loved primary school, but at secondary was “agonisingly self-conscious and found the whole thing intimidating,” while for Bethannie secondary school had the advantage of being “slightly less boring” than primary. But for seren_dipity the whole experience seems to have been one long party. “I loved school and had to be kicked out,” she says, although presumably not for long.

Seren_dipity was too busy having fun at school to learn to ride a bike, but is it now too late? More non-cyclists come out of the closet, but they can take heart from lardylady’s story. Although she did not have a bike as a child, her other half was keen for her to try.
Initial results were not promising, but she stuck to the old adage, if at first you don’t succeed, try something else. Now she and her partner go for regular rides on a tandem. “You get the enjoyment of cycling, without having to steer and use gears,” says lardylady. Although you still have to pedal, sadly.
Posters have been using the online forum to report how much their partners complain about them using the online forum. Bizent says her other half gets tetchy when she uses the computer and feels she should be talking to him instead: “I can see his point, but sometimes I just don’t want to talk to him!”
Seadream gets away with spending hours on TES because her other half assumes she is on Facebook, which must be the equivalent of hiding your copy of Anna Karenina inside Too Much Too Young*, but cosmos says her chap is happy to see her spending time on the forums: “As long as I’m not talking to him he is a happy man!”
