Parents as inspectors is not the point

No doubt virtually all schools share Sir Michael Wilshaw’s as- piration to be good and many would aspire to be even better. Two changes to the Ofsted grading system would help. “Satisfactory” should be replaced by “not consistently good”; “outstanding”, a term which by definition all cannot attain, should be replaced by “excellent”, which in principle is open for all.
