Julie Robinson clearly welcomes James Kennedy’s account of the differences between teaching in a maintained and in an independent school (“A private insight”, Letters, 29 March). Would she be equally welcoming of “a public insight” where a teacher describes how they moved from a decaying, complacent independent school to an aspiring, high-performing state one?
