So, what is education for?

Students nowadays only go to university to get a job. The consequences are a degree-ed population who cannot read a newspaper with discerning eyes; who cannot ingest information with sparkling, cultured minds. We have an increase in students but a decrease in learning. If you now involve in your student intake people over 50, universities would have to change the entire curriculum because this new group of people will have different requirements. “Education as learning” would be forced on the system by pensioners.
