The Cosmic Classroom live link-up will be held on 2 February when this Isle of Wight Year 3 class - along with 10 other classes - will speak directly to British astronaut Tim Peake as he orbits the Earth in the International Space Station.

The competition to take part ran from 11-18 January and TES was inundated with 6,000 entries. A random draw selected the winners, giving them the chance to attend a live event in Liverpool, where they will talk to Major Peake, ask him their questions and carry out experiments.

A further seven videos were selected from other schools which won’t be able to attend the live event but will have the opportunity for their questions to be answered by the astronaut.

More than 10,000 teachers registered to be a part of the event.
