Tutor2u

The business studies, economics and politics website was founded in 1999 by Geoff Riley, head of economics and politics at Eton College and his brother Jeff, who runs a strategy and corporate finance consultancy. Its free content includes study and revision materials, reviewed links to dozens of useful websites, news, and a range of forums. The forums have had more than 17,000 posts in the past year and are moderated by a team of teachers and examiners who reply to queries.

The Times 100 Case Studies

Produced by our sister newspaper, The Times, the site is aimed at 14 to 18-year-old business studies students and their teachers. It provides case studies on some of Britain’s top companies such as Vodafone, Rolls-Royce and Dixons to demonstrate business theory in practice. Edition seven of the resource has been redesigned to make it easier to navigate and faster to download. Materials from past exam papers help students revise and teachers plan lessons.

Bized

A business and economics service for students, teachers and lecturers run by a team from Bristol University’s Institute for Learning and Research Technology. Its offerings include questions for revision, case studies based on articles from FT.com with links to other parts of the site, worksheets, glossary and a database of articles from key business publications.

A new section is the virtual learning arcade, which offers interactive models and simulations. There are support materials explaining relevant theories, worksheets, definitions and guidelines on using the models. Along with three large-scale simulations which include tackling traffic congestion, there are a series of smaller scale ones; determining the price of a house is one.
