IF teachers or parents are feeling in a charitable mood this Christmas, or any other time, especially if their school or child is teaching or learning Chinese, they could contact HOST - a charity backed by the British Council. HOST arranges invitations for international students to visit private homes for a weekend to be treated as one of the family. Chinese students - there are 25,000 studying here - are particularly keen to make contact. You do not have to live near a university to take part.
