There’s still time to get your entries in for the national Doodle 4 Google My Britain schools competition, which is being supported by The TES. You have to design a Google Doodle to reflect what it is to be British. More than 3,000 entries have already been received, so we are likely to see a richly diverse slice of UK life.

Google’s vice president for Europe, Nikesh Arora, says: “There has been a great deal of debate in the past 12 months about what it means to be British. At Google we want to play a constructive part in that discussion.”

The competition is open to all UK schools and the winning doodle will have pride of place on Google’s home page at www.google.co.uk

for one day, where it will be seen by up to 17 million people. The winner gets a trip of a lifetime to the Googleplex in California along with their family for a week and the other 33 winners and 300 regional finalists get prizes ranging from interactive whiteboards (with projectors, training and installation) to Google goody bags.

To find out all about Doogle 4 Google visit www.google.co.ukintl eneventsdoodle.html where you can also see last year’s winners.
