A quiz designed for the end of term consisting of 5 different rounds and the answers included on a Word document. Please note you need all the files in the same folder for the mp3 files to play correctly and I do not own copyright to them, they were taken from YouTube and all copyright and credit goes to their respective owners. Fingers crossed the files upload this time, sorry for the error last time! Arrrghh, just noticed the answers to the picture round are NOT in the correct order! Not quite sure how this happened but just making people aware of it.

Converting Metric Units (Lengths)

(33)
A brief five question PowerPoint quiz on converting metric units, would lend itself nicely to being used as either a starter or a plenary. This only covers lengths for now and I will create another one covering weights and volume in the very near future if there is any demand / feedback asking for it. NOTE: The answers are on the final slide and am pretty sure I’ve done my working out correctly!

Twitter Significant Figures

(10)
Short PowerPoint that explains significant figures regarding larger numbers (not any that start with 0) in the context of followers of celebrities on Twitter. One of the slides gives you a suggestion for how they could lay out the work in their books, this may or may not be useful. I will add a second PowerPoint at a later date regarding small numbers (anything starting with 0) when I can think of a context to put it in. Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome!

A short five question PowerPoint quiz on converting metric units, would lend itself nicely to being used as either a starter or a plenary. This covers weights (kilograms, grams and milligrams), one for lengths already exists and I will create another one covering volume in the very near future if there is any demand / feedback asking for it. NOTE: The answers are again on the final slide and am pretty sure I’ve done my working out correctly! There is notes underneath the slides with a little bit of extra information if anyone isn’t sure where I’ve had the details from.

A worksheet covering the amount of energy to break bonds. The sheet consists of four different questions that get progressively more difficult as more and more of the scaffolding is taken away.

If you go through the first one as an example and then let the pupils get on with the rest before bringing them back together as a group to go through the answers you are looking at taking 30 to 40 minutes depending on the strength of the group.

I am not a scientist, I have approached this from a Maths perspective and trying to make it as easy as possible by filling in simple tables.

Any feedback / comments are greatly appreciated.

A worksheet of six questions where given the answer to a sum can you then answer the various questions where the number of decimal places or the operation has been altered. This kind of question regularly shows up on GCSE papers but there does not seem to be too many worksheets out there on the topic. I've included the answers as a seperate document but if anyone spots any mistakes, contact me and I will update.
