<p>A set of ten phonics worksheets based on Long Vowel sounds.<br /> ai, ay, a-e<br /> ee, ea, e-e<br /> i, ie, igh, y, i-e<br /> oa, o-e<br /> ue, u-e</p> <p>Activities include underlining the specific sounds, writing words into the correct parts of a table and writing sentences.<br /> I initially developed these worksheets for a small Year 2 phonics intervention group but they can be equally beneficial for larger groups.</p>

<p>A pack of 5 Reading comprehensions based on a magician called Mr. Whiz who loves doing magic tricks. However, they often go wrong!<br /> I created these reading comprehensions for an SEN child in Year 2 who struggled to read a lot of the reading comprehension material within school.<br /> I have incorporated many words which can be broken down into their constituent phonics sounds for easy reading. I have also included some trickier words for exposure and further development.<br /> A series of questions follow the reading, designed to encourage children to find key words in the text.<br /> These reading comprehensions would be ideal for low to medium ability children in Year 1 and Year 2.</p> <ul> <li>Please note that in one of the reading comprehensions I have written thoughts without adding speech marks or Italics in order to avoid any confusion for young children.</li> </ul>

<p>Phonics short and long vowel sound differentiation worksheets.<br /> Ideal for KS1 Years 1 and 2.<br /> One worksheet explores the impact of adding a silent ‘magic’ e to the end of a word, changing it from a short vowel sound into a long vowel sound.<br /> The second worksheet gets children to identify and distinguish between words containing short and long vowel sounds.<br /> I initially developed these worksheets for a small Year 2 phonics intervention group but they can be equally beneficial for larger groups.</p>
