It has photos with simple explanations of what to do meaning students can work very independently.
I made this for my GCSE product Design class as an independent activity and students found it very helpful and easy to follow, resulting in very accurately made joints. I also use it with Y9.

Social, moral, cultural and Environmental (wider issues)

Teaching social, moral, cultural and environmental issues can be very difficult and time consuming. This is an information prompt card which I produced to solve this problem. It contains down to the point, concise details about what each area is about and what students should consider when designing their product based on the issues. I laminate them and have them on tables when students are researching and designing their products. Students find it s very useful way of finding out what it's about and what sort of things they need to write about in their design work.
I use it with both my KS3 classes and GCSE groups.

COVERS: SOCIAL, MORAL, CULTURAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND ECONOMIC

AQA GCSE Product Design Revision newsletters

Total of 4 newsletters (print each as a booklet) total 22 pages
The newsletters were made to be given out in the weeks leading up to the exam as an 'all you need to know' revision method. Students were complaining about how text books / revision guides are too detailed, so I thought I would make these. Students like them as they are down to the point and just give the concise information that they need for their exam.

I had them printed as booklets

There are 4 issues:
Issue 1: Materials and tools (6 A4 pages)
Issue 2: Industrial processes (7 pages)
Issue 3: Design and market influence (5 pages)
Issue 4: Exam tips (4 pages)

Plenary place mat AFL assessment for learning

This is my Plenary Place mat.
The questions are suitable for most subjects and are not aimed at one in particular.
I have developed it over several years - it has a series of different coloured questions, which gets students reflecting on the lesson, their learning and progress.
I print them off and have them on the tables laminated - enough so that all students can see one.
I then ask random students to pick a colour, read the question out loud and give their response.

I have used it during 2 OFSTED lessons and both times, it was commented on as a strength of the lesson.

(please note, the example image has been blurred, however the purchased place mat document is not)

You are purchasing the working drawing for making the Bird Feeder as illustrated in the picture.
I designed the bird feeder myself as a platform to teach subject knowledge required for the new GCSE in Design and Technology.
The working drawing is printed A3 and has individual part drawings for each component along with dimensions. It also includes detail for making the vacuum former mould to make the base.

I have trialed the product with both my Y9 and 10 classes and it was very successful and students really enjoyed making them!

They are very cheap to make (less than £1 each) and are made from 120 x 12mm pine plank

It facilitates the teaching of:
- Manufacturing processes - batch production
- Materials and their properties (focus on wood and plastic)
- Making processes
- Material finishes
- Quality control

AQA GCSE D&T Student Friendly Mark Scheme / Criteria

The AQA GCSE D&T mark scheme is, in my opinion, not very ‘student friendly’. If students don’t understand what they are being marked on, they will potentially miss out on marks.

I have re written the mark shceme, in a more easy to understand format and I have made the language more easy to understand.

This can be printed in A3 or A4.

It consists of two pages.

It can also be used by the teacher when marking work.

Hope it’s of help to people.

Whilst I have put a lot of time and effort into ensuring this is accurate, I can take no responsibility for errors.
