An observation lesson pack, for persuasive writing skills, this is themed on Midsummer nights dream (as my class were at the time studying the play).
The lesson is based on creating a persuasive speech through the character of Hermia, as she receives a notice to appear in court.

Pupils really enjoy taking a break from studying the text and loved creating their personal persuasive statements as Hermia, this allows them to make links to context/gain a deeper understanding of the characters.

This pack includes the PowerPoint lesson, lesson plan, student self reflection sheet, an example persuasive text (framework) and the task sheet (notice to appear in court).

Fun lesson, engaging and interactive, can be followed up with a lesson of persuasive speech performances (speaking and listening assessment).

This lesson is a post analysis/reading lesson. It was a lesson I used for my observation, I have included my observation planning sheet; a self-reflection assessment sheet (differentiated) and the lesson itself (PowerPoint) this includes group analysis/individual analysis tasks, preparing pupils to attempt an analysis assessment. You will need a copy of the poem itself, otherwise all resources are included. This lesson is not a reading/poetry analysing lesson, it is a lesson that should be used after you have read through/analysed Belfast confetti and you are preparing/aiding your class in reading assessment practice.
