This booklet covers most of the topic of ecology. It uses a Jurassic Park theme and can be printed off with each child having their own booklet. My class really enjoyed it! Students will be part of a team of scientific researchers who travel to Isla Nublar to dicover how dinosaurs interact with each other and their environment. Each avenger has a profile. This can be printed out and given to each group. You can insert the profile inside the top secret a3 sheet so it looks like a secret folder. You can stick equation triangles on the back of an eye patch which has been provided in the master copy these provide for differentiation and a member of each group can have the eye patch and pretend to be Samuel L Jackson's character, 'Nick Fury'. A loop game has also been provided and a lesson plan. A linked prezi presentation can be found on prezi created by myself. They had great fun in my class!

It also discusses different levels of classification and the binomial system. We then move into discussions about using DNA analysis (cladistics) as a modern way of classifying organisms with students getting asked to produce a cladogram of different biscuits!</p>

<p>These resources were developed through a huge effort by our department. This lesson compares animal and plant cells. It requires students to go further than simply copying down definitions. Actively building, “cell cities” and using on-line games allows students to explore cells in a different format. There will be a focus on RER, ribosomes and mitochondria to ensure students develop their understanding of organelles and move on from the stereotypical KS3 cells they may have drawn previously.</p>
