<p>Children love spotting mistakes and silly things when reading! So I made an OVER THE TOP set of instructions on making buttered toast.</p> <p>The children need to cross out the unnecessary words/devices/language included. To extend, you could get the children to write the edited set of instructions into their books.</p> <p>My class really loved this activity - and it really gets the children to understand how to get to the point when writing instructions and not waffling on.</p> <p>I have included answers too! Some may be debatable but that can be discussed as a class.</p> <p>Some of the errors include:</p> <ul> <li>Alliteration (not in the title)</li> <li>Similes</li> <li>Rhyming</li> <li>Conflicting adverbs that do not match the imperative verb</li> <li>Fronted Adverbials that are not time conjunctions</li> <li>Adjectives</li> <li>Unnecessary information</li> </ul>

<p>A detailed answer to the end of unit question in the Understanding Christianity Creation/Fall Unit in Year 6:</p> <p>‘Creation and science:conflicting or complementary?’</p> <p>Having this WAGOLL shared with the children really helped the class write superb arguments showing how much they learned from this unit.
