This full scheme of work was taught to a mixed ability Y9 group. The SOW runs for approximately 10 lessons and builds up to a formal debate using themes from the film as stimuli. The SOW uses sections of the film to explore a number of different topics including: reality TV; censorship; suspense and tension; product placement and commercialism; camera techniques and film study; persuasive writing; and formal debate. A really fun SOW that my students loved!

This lesson was used with a Y8 mixed ability class but could be used with any KS3 group. Students identify emotive language in an extract from the article published on September 12th 2001 in the New York Times.
