<p>This resource is aimed at Year 6 pupils in order to get them ready for their SATs test. This resource is made up of 5 worksheets that allow children to practice specific question types. The first four focus on different questions: circle the correct answer, ‘how do you know’ questions, ‘what the word suggest’ questions and ‘finding evidence’ questions. The final sheet is a revision of the previous 4 sheets. I have used these as the starter to my reading lessons. There are suggested answers included.</p>

This is a series of messages that can be given to students to guide them through a viking experience day. The messages takes them through making a long boat, a viking settlement and writing their names in runes. Suitable for KS2 but could be adapted for KS1. I have used this with my year 6 classes by delivering the messages to them in groups as scrolls and they have all really enjoyed it.

Each sheet has a section of text and ten words that they have to find within in the text. In my class we do it as a race which works well. It is also a great opportunity to talk about the language that they have found.</p>

This game consist of 30 cards, each with a grammar question and the answer on. You could use them in many ways. I give each child one card and they move around the class asking each other the questions and helping them with the answer; once two children have answered each others question they swap cards. Then they move to a new person and ask them their new question. My year 6 class really enjoyed this and it was an effective way to revise our grammar.

They move around the class asking each other the questions and helping them with the answer; once two children have answered each others question they swap cards.
