Morgan Spurlock's 'Super Size Me' (2004) is beautifully simple concept; what happens if you eat nothing but 'McDonald's' food for one month?<br /> <br /> I've split the movie into two, there is a PowerPoint and a task sheet for each half. As always, you'll find the best way of adapting it and playing around with the resources - which is kind of the point really. <p>A very simple, linear task sheet on the BBC show ‘Sikh Boxing Warriors’. Bhupinder Singh runs the MLSS Boxing Academy in Walsall, West Midlands. Walsall was famous for producing leather, but has recently fallen on hard times. It is part of an organisation called the Midland Langar Seva Society. He is nicknamed ‘Pops’ and is passionate about how boxing can transform lives, especially young people struggling with bullying and street crime.</p>

<p>It’s a bit rough and ready, (the resources, not the movie) but basically using the film ‘Risen’ with Joseph Fiennes you can hopefully get a different viewpoint on the crucifixion of Jesus.</p> <p>I’ve split the movie into three parts, for three one hour lessons. Obviously we all adapt/edit etc according to our taste and circumstances. - so you could do it over two, watch the film in lesson and then set task sheets as homework and so on. <p>‘Groundhog Day’ (1993) is a stonecold classic, Bill Murray is peerless as sarcastic weatherman Phil, who finds himself inexplicably repeating the same day over and over. I’ve thrown together a few bits and bobs that connect the film to Buddhism.</p> <p>As with all of my resources, there will be spelling mistakes and typos so please be careful. You will know best how to deliver the resources, and you will mix and match as you see fit. <p>‘Big Gay Wedding with Tom Allen’ is a charming documentary where Tom Allen arranges a same - sex wedding; crucially though as Tom helps with sourcing a cake and booking entertainment for the event he explores the history of gay marriage in the UK.</p> <p>Tom’s affable charisma makes him a relaxed interviewer, and he meets a wide range of people who were involved in campaigning for equal rights for same-sex couples, including the Prime Minister at the time Lord Cameron, and the prominent campaigner Peter Tatchell.</p> <p>The tasksheet is a simple, linear affair and if you have downloaded any of my resources before than please be mindful of spelling and grammar issues - I do check but they still sometimes slip through!</p>

<p>A resource for exploring the issues of rape, sexual violence and consent.</p> <p>‘Promising Young Woman’ (2020) is Emerald Fennell’s writer/director debut, and features an astonishing performance by Carey Mulligan. The film is a ‘15 Certificate’</p> <p>The resources contain a timeline, and slidehows/tasksheets that assume roughly three 60 minute sessions. Of course, you know your school/college best and can edit/adapt accordingly.</p> <p>The slideshows reference the recent OFSTED report ‘Review of sexual abuse in schools &amp; colleges’. Also included are references to ‘I just thought it was part of life’ - a significant report that highlights the abuse received by women and girls in the UK. I would also recommend exploring other works by the report authors, Taylor &amp; Shrive - they are superb.</p>

<p>The ‘Breadwinner’ is an astounding piece of animation, telling the story of a young girl brought up under the rule of the Taliban in 2001.</p> <p>Please find enclosed some lesson reources to help explore some of the issues of the movie including dress code in Islam and arranged marriage.</p> <p>If you have downloaded my movie resources before, you know that I provide a simple timeline of the key events, a PowerPoint and a tasksheet.
