A useful RAG rating for teachers when considering the effectiveness of SEN provision in day to day practice. Split into key categories, linked to the EEF’s 5 a day. Can be used by SLT as part of an observation process, by teachers/ TAs as part of a peer or self assessment or by SENCos as a guide for staff’s continuous professional development.

An information sheet that pupils can fill it out to give to their new teacher. Perfect for transition within a school or from year 6 to year 7. All supported with Widgit Symbols.

This is a PowerPoint that I have used for several years now. It contains a lovely welcome letter that can be printed and sent home with children and contains slides for you to edit and personalise with your own photos etc. It give ideas for talking about your likes and dislikes, fears, challenges, your hopes and dreams, things you find difficult, any big mistakes you have made when teaching for example ( keep it appropriate!). It helps with letting your class know you are human and even you make mistakes and also enjoy a challenge! There is a discussion point at the end for the children to discuss theirs, which can lead into a nice writing activity or just an oral discussion.
I have used this in both KS1 and KS2.

A poem looking at some of the worries and concerns new teachers have about going into the classroom. Useful as a stimulus for discussion with Teacher training students, NQTs and just staff generally.

These were two lessons that I put together for some KS3 pupils that helped me to film a behaviour management video. It enabled me to get the pupils to act badly so that I could video them and interview them about new teachers. I then used the video for my behaviour management training for NQTs.

I presented this to a PGCE MFL cohort and have used this over the past two academic years. Evaluations form students have come out very positive ( backed up with real life examples of marking and back up by practice marking activities and debates ) so thought I'd share for those delivering similar sessions or INSETS. Take a look and adapt to your own audience.
Connectives display posters, which I find incredibly useful for all year groups, especially during DIRT activities (I get the pupils to 'upgrade' their connectives). Common spelling error display also included in this pack. The third resource is a literacy map which I laminate and leave on the student's desks and I refer to this when we discuss writing up paragraphs etc.
