Monster Body Parts Word Bank
Useful word banks to help children to create and describe a monster, a dragon or even an animal.
These word banks contain nouns, their synonyms, and adjectives for the following body parts:
• skin coverings: fur/hair, scales, feathers, skin, spines, quills
• head: horns, antlers, crest, wattle
• limbs: legs, wings, flippers, tentacles, claws, talons, hooves, pincers
• mouths: jaws/snout, beak, teeth, tusks, fangs, tongue
• other parts: tail, mane, dorsal crest, shell, fin, pouch
Each body part comes with a list of appropriate adjectives and a photograph for illustration. This resource is particularly helpful for SEN and EAL pupils, but can be used by the whole class to widen pupils’ vocabulary usage.
A second version includes synonyms for nouns, as well as appropriate adjectives, suitable for all pupils.
Each word bank comes as a PDF in two formats:
• document spanning three A4 papges,
• as a handy booklet that can be printed, folded and stuck into pupils’ books for easy reference.
