This presentation could serve as an introduction to print based media advertising. The class will be introduced to a series of advertisements (up to 15 in total). They should pay particular reference to the use of colour and the slogans.
<p>A fun, festive lesson which analyses the uss of media language in a range of print based Christmas adverts. Links nicely to any teaching of print based advertising and Eduqas GCSE Media Paper 1.</p>
<p>A detailed, engaging and well-differentiated lesson to encourage critical thinking (lasting 1-2 hours), focused on the growth of Fake News and ‘alternative facts’. These resources teach students how we must always use critical thinking skills when studying media material.<br />

<p>A professionally designed Christmas quiz for Media Studies teachers to use with their students, featuring 60 well-presented questions and an answer sheet.</p>
<p>The quiz also includes a word-search (on screen) and a couple of anagram rounds.</p>
<p>Fifty of the questions are Christmas-related and not connected to a specific school-subject: the final ten are subject specific and deal either with GCSE terminology, KS4 exam specification contents, or “fun facts”.</p>
<p>Differentiation can easily be achieved by changing quiz group sizes. The quiz is suitable for KS3-5.</p>
<p>Completing and peer-marking the 60-question quiz should take the best part of a 1-hour lesson.</p>

<p>I remember being taught media studies at GCSE and A Level and wished I had resources like this to support me when completing assessment work. I hope your students enjoy them to.</p>

<p>A revision resource for A Level Media Studies focused on the WJEC Eduqas specification and the theorists listed in the exam board Teaching Guides.</p>
<p>I encourage my students to highlight the sections on the sheet as we cover the material. It also serves as a basis for checking knowledge later on. It is designed to fit on a single side of A4 paper, though it scales decently to A3 for displaying.</p>
