Use these placemats (one for KS1, one for lower KS2 and one for upper KS2) to support our vulnerable learners. If you use the same format as they move through school they will not need to relearn how to support their own learning. If you place on card, you can then add words and other suggestions making each a working placemat.

Marshmallows The Literacy Shed SEN English

(0)
A scheme of work to support The Literacy Shed’s Marshmallow video. I designed this scheme of work last minute to support secondary MLD students, something that is fun and exciting that helps them engage in the lessons whilst working from home. Within the flipchart is an example of a non chronological report for one of the activities, this is to be used as a recommendation and gives staff delivering the resource an idea of what to use to support students in writing non-chronological reports. Twinkl have lots of free non chronological reports. English skills covered include : non chronological reports, comic book writing, descriptive writing ( onomatopoeia, similes and adjectives) and creative writing surrounding making a ‘wanted’ poster.

Pokemon mixed literacy/numeracy KS2 pack

(0)
9 pages of cross-curricular, project-based learning resources based on Pokemon. PDF pack of mixed literacy, numeracy and history resources that cover National Curriculum KS1 and KS2 objectives (but based on a topic that would also be of interest to slightly older learners). Perfect for homeschooling, as a homework project, to supplement other classroom learning, to use with SEN pupils, those with gaps in their KS1/KS2 knowledge or those who would simply benefit from a re-cap. Contents include: Page No. 1 Information Sheet 2 Comprehension questions/quiz 3 - 4 Maths Questions 5 - 6 Adjectives/Cloze activity 7 - 8 Design a Pokemon Creative Writing Activity (with writing frame) 9 Answers I am a homeschooling mum of a 7 year old child with Asperger’s (and a range of other SEN), as well as a former secondary school/SEN teacher. Gaming is a particular interest of my child, as well as a great many other children, so I figured it would be good to use the topic as a motivational tool to support further learning. It has gone down well with him, so I figured that perhaps others may benefit from it too! I am only just getting started with selling my resources so I would be very grateful for any feedback.
